Seriously, what is science really? General Science, Earth Science, Physics, Chemistry... Name it all, since nursery we all had had science subjects, but when these "Mind Movers" asked what science is, ideas just clouded up my mind and I found it hard to give a concrete definition to it. A strategic way to start a presentation, it was. Basically, that's what Mind Movers do; turn on the curiosity of their hosts and let the magic of wonder and fascination do the rest.
They are teachers primarily, but they're not ordinary ones. A great number of science teachers just feed their students' minds with scientific definitions, concepts, etc. The Mind Movers, however, let the students witness the actual process, which somehow makes them see the fun in learning science. Moreover, most of their audience are children whose minds are like sponges which can absorb almost anything. These Mind Movers, therefore, help in the betterment of the next generation, the young citizens of the country. They help by implanting to the minds of the children, and perhaps to their very hearts, the love for science. Come to think of it, most of the first world countries (e.g. United States, Canada, Switzerland) excel because of their scientific advancements. Soon, if the government would happen to invest in scientific institutions and facilities such as the Mind Museum, the success of the Philippines would just be within our reach.
Overall, I think the Mind Movers are really contributing to the development of the scientific academe. I would love to see more people like them in the country. After all, Filipinos do love science, don't they?
